A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the purchase of iron and steel products made in the
United States for certain projects by public institutions of higher
education.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 2252.201(1), Government Code, is amended
to read as follows:
(1) "Governmental entity" means this state or a board,
commission, department, office, or other agency in the executive
branch of state government, including an institution of higher
education as defined by Section 61.003, Education Code. The term
does not include a political subdivision.
SECTION 2. The changes in law made by this Act apply only to
bid documents submitted or contracts entered into on or after the
effective date of this Act.
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021.
