H.B. 4525 seeks to provide for this consideration. H.B. 4525 amends current law relating to the approval of career and technology courses by the State Board of Education. RULEMAKING AUTHORITY This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency. SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS SECTION 1. Amends Section 28.002(o), Education Code, as follows: (o) Requires the State Board of Education, in approving career and technology courses, to: (1) creates this subdivision from existing text and makes nonsubstantive changes; and (2) in scheduling or initiating a course review to provide updated and relevant course offerings, consider relevant economic and market conditions affecting the workforce of this state. SECTION 2. Provides that this Act applies beginning with the 2021-2022 school year. SECTION 3. Effective date: upon passage or September 1, 2021.
