| 9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 3964, Special District | |
| 11 | 11 | Local Laws Code, is amended by adding Section 3964.0110 to read as | |
| 12 | 12 | follows: | |
| 13 | 13 | Sec. 3964.0110. EFFECT OF ANNEXATION. Notwithstanding any | |
| 14 | 14 | other law, if all or any part of the territory of the district is | |
| 15 | 15 | annexed by the city into the city's corporate limits, the district | |
| 16 | 16 | retains all of the district's outstanding debt and obligations and | |
| 17 | 17 | is not dissolved. | |
| 18 | 18 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
| 19 | 19 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
| 20 | 20 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
| 21 | 21 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
| 22 | 22 | Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
