10 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Subchapter H, Chapter 508, Government Code, is | |
12 | 12 | amended by adding Section 508.2525 to read as follows: | |
13 | 13 | Sec. 508.2525. WARRANT FOR CERTAIN VIOLATIONS OF | |
14 | 14 | SUPER-INTENSIVE SUPERVISION PROGRAM. A law enforcement agency | |
15 | 15 | shall execute, as soon as practicable, a warrant that is directed to | |
16 | 16 | the agency and issued for the return of a releasee in the | |
17 | 17 | super-intensive supervision program based on a violation of a | |
18 | 18 | condition of parole or mandatory supervision related to the | |
19 | 19 | electronic monitoring of the releasee. | |
20 | 20 | SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only | |
21 | 21 | to an arrest warrant that is issued on or after the effective date | |
22 | 22 | of this Act. An arrest warrant that was issued before the effective | |
23 | 23 | date of this Act is governed by the law in effect on the date the | |
24 | 24 | warrant was issued, and the former law is continued in effect for | |
25 | 25 | that purpose. | |
26 | 26 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
