8 | 14 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
9 | 15 | SECTION 1. Section 8109.101(a), Special District Local Laws | |
10 | 16 | Code, is amended to read as follows: | |
11 | 17 | (a) At any time before the district issues indebtedness | |
12 | 18 | secured by taxes or net revenues, the district, including any | |
13 | 19 | annexed territory, may be divided into an original district and one | |
14 | 20 | or more new districts. The board shall determine which portion of | |
15 | 21 | the divided area constitutes the original district. The original | |
16 | 22 | district and a district created by the division of the original | |
17 | 23 | district may be divided under this section more than once. | |
18 | 24 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. | |
