66 AN ACT
7- relating to the enforcement of commercial motor vehicle safety
8- standards in certain counties.
7+ relating to the career and technology education allotment under the
8+ Foundation School Program.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
10- SECTION 1. Section 644.101(c), Transportation Code, as
11- amended by Chapters 169 (H.B. 917) and 478 (H.B. 511), Acts of the
12- 86th Legislature, Regular Session, 2019, is reenacted and amended
13- to read as follows:
14- (c) A sheriff or a deputy sheriff of any of the following
15- counties is eligible to apply for certification under this section:
16- (1) a county bordering the United Mexican States;
17- (2) a county with a population of less than 1,000, part
18- of which is located within 75 miles of an international border; [or]
19- (3) [(2)] a county with a population of 700,000 or
20- more; [or]
21- (4) [(3)] a county with a population of 400,000 or
22- more that borders the county in which the State Capitol is located;
23- or
24- (5) a county:
25- (A) any part of which is within 30 miles of New
26- Mexico; and
27- (B) that is adjacent to two or more counties that
28- generated $100 million or more in tax revenue collected under
29- Chapters 201 and 202, Tax Code, from oil and gas production during
30- the preceding state fiscal year.
31- SECTION 2. To the extent of any conflict, this Act prevails
32- over another Act of the 87th Legislature, Regular Session, 2021,
33- relating to nonsubstantive additions to and corrections in enacted
34- codes.
35- SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021.
10+ SECTION 1. Section 48.106(a), Education Code, is amended to
11+ read as follows:
12+ (a) For each full-time equivalent student in average daily
13+ attendance in an approved career and technology education program
14+ in grades 7 through 12, a district is entitled to:
15+ (1) an annual allotment equal to the basic allotment,
16+ or, if applicable, the sum of the basic allotment and the allotment
17+ under Section 48.101 to which the district is entitled, multiplied
18+ by a weight of 1.35; and
19+ (2) $50 for each of the following in which the student
20+ is enrolled:
21+ (A) two or more advanced career and technology
22+ education classes for a total of three or more credits;
23+ (B) a campus designated as a P-TECH school under
24+ Section 29.556; or
25+ (C) a campus that is a member of the New Tech
26+ Network and that focuses on project-based learning and work-based
27+ education.
28+ SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021.
