| 12 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 13 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 271.003(8), Local Government Code, is | |
| 14 | 11 | amended to read as follows: | |
| 15 | 12 | (8) "Personal property" includes appliances, | |
| 16 | 13 | equipment, facilities, and furnishings, or an interest in personal | |
| 17 | 14 | property, whether movable or fixed, considered by the governing | |
| 18 | 15 | body of the governmental agency to be necessary, useful, or | |
| 19 | 16 | appropriate to one or more purposes of the governmental agency. The | |
| 20 | 17 | term includes all materials and labor incident to the installation | |
| 21 | 18 | of that personal property. The term includes electricity and cloud | |
| 22 | 19 | computing services. The term does not include real property. | |
| 23 | - | SECTION 2. It is the intent of the legislature that the | |
| 24 | - | definition of the term "personal property" under Section | |
| 25 | - | 271.003(8), Local Government Code, as amended by this Act, is | |
| 26 | - | applicable only to Subchapter A, Chapter 271, Local Government | |
