                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD     Austin, Texas       FISCAL NOTE, 87TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION             March 17, 2021       TO: Honorable Victoria Neave, Chair, House Committee on Juvenile Justice & Family Issues     FROM: Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board      IN RE: HB853 by Cook (Relating to orders for possession of and access to a child in a suit affecting the parent-child relationship.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted     No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would amend the Family Code to expand the factors a court must consider in rendering an order for possession of a child less than three years old. The bill would also permit a court to render an order for periods of possession of a child less than three years of age based on the agreement of the parties if the agreement is in the best interest of the child.According to the Office of Court Administration, no significant fiscal impact to the state court system is anticipated.
