44 A JOINT RESOLUTION
55 proposing a constitutional amendment to repeal the constitutional
66 provision providing that marriage in this state consists only of
77 the union of one man and one woman and prohibiting this state or a
88 political subdivision of this state from creating or recognizing
99 any legal status identical or similar to marriage.
1010 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1111 SECTION 1. Section 32, Article I, Texas Constitution, is
1212 repealed.
1313 SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be
1414 submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 3, 2021.
1515 The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the
1616 proposition: "The constitutional amendment repealing the
1717 constitutional provision providing that marriage in this state
1818 consists only of the union of one man and one woman and prohibiting
1919 this state or a political subdivision of this state from creating or
2020 recognizing any legal status identical or similar to marriage."
