| 10 | 10 | BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Article VIII, Texas Constitution, is amended by | |
| 12 | 12 | adding Section 1-s to read as follows: | |
| 13 | 13 | Sec. 1-s. The legislature by general law may exempt from ad | |
| 14 | 14 | valorem taxation the portion of the assessed value of a person's | |
| 15 | 15 | property that is attributable to the installation in or on the | |
| 16 | 16 | property of a rainwater harvesting or graywater system and may | |
| 17 | 17 | provide additional eligibility requirements for the exemption. | |
| 18 | 18 | SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be | |
| 19 | 19 | submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 2, 2021. | |
| 20 | 20 | The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the | |
| 21 | 21 | proposition: "The constitutional amendment to authorize the | |
| 22 | 22 | legislature to exempt from ad valorem taxation the portion of the | |
| 23 | 23 | assessed value of a person's property that is attributable to the | |
| 24 | 24 | installation in or on the property of a rainwater harvesting or | |
| 25 | 25 | graywater system." |
