9 | 9 | BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Article IV, Texas Constitution, is amended by | |
11 | 11 | adding Section 27 to read as follows: | |
12 | 12 | Sec. 27. The Governor may not, by order or proclamation, | |
13 | 13 | suspend or limit the sale, dispensing, or transportation of | |
14 | 14 | alcoholic beverages, firearms, explosives, or combustibles, | |
15 | 15 | regardless of whether this State is in a period of emergency | |
16 | 16 | resulting from a disaster. | |
17 | 17 | SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be | |
18 | 18 | submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 2, 2021. | |
19 | 19 | The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the | |
20 | 20 | proposition: "The constitutional amendment prohibiting the | |
21 | 21 | governor from regulating alcoholic beverages, firearms, | |
22 | 22 | explosives, or combustibles by order or proclamation." |
