| 10 | 10 | | BE IT RESOLVED, That the 87th Texas Legislature hereby |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | applies to Congress to call a convention under Article V of the |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | United States Constitution for the limited purpose of proposing an |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | amendment to the constitution to limit the number of justices of the |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | United States Supreme Court to nine; and, be it further |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | RESOLVED, That, unless rescinded by a succeeding |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | legislature, this application by the 87th Texas Legislature |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | constitutes a continuing application in accordance with Article V |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | of the United States Constitution until at least two-thirds of the |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | legislatures of the several states have applied to Congress to call |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | a convention for the limited purpose of proposing an amendment to |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | the constitution to limit the number of justices of the United |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | States Supreme Court to nine; and, be it further |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the Texas secretary of state forward official |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | copies of this resolution to the president of the United States, to |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | the speaker of the House of Representatives of the United States, to |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | the vice president of the United States in the vice president's |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | capacity as the presiding officer of the Senate of the United States |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | at the office located in the United States Capitol Building, and to |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | all members of the Texas delegation to Congress with the request |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | that this resolution be officially entered in the Congressional |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | Record as an application to Congress for a convention under Article |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | V of the United States Constitution for the limited purpose of |

| 33 | 33 | | proposing an amendment to the constitution to limit the number of |
|---|
