| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Senior Officer Alex Labatto of the Corpus Christi |

| 6 | 7 | | Police Department was awarded the Life Saving Ribbon for his role in |

| 7 | 8 | | rescuing a man experiencing a medical emergency; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, On January 13, 2021, Officer Labatto responded to a |

| 9 | 10 | | call at a local business where a man had collapsed; when he arrived |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | on the scene, he found an employee administering chest |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | compressions; taking command of the situation, Officer Labatto |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | immediately moved the victim to a better position and continued |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | performing chest compressions until paramedics arrived; and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, It was later determined that the victim had suffered |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | a heart attack, and Officer Labatto's quick and decisive actions |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | greatly contributed to the man's survival; and |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Every day, the peace officers of Texas come to the |

| 18 | 19 | | rescue of individuals in critical situations, and Senior Officer |

| 19 | 20 | | Alex Labatto may indeed reflect with pride on the vital role he |

| 20 | 21 | | played in saving the life of a fellow citizen; now, therefore, be it |

| 21 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |

| 22 | 23 | | Legislature hereby commend Senior Officer Alex Labatto for |

| 23 | 24 | | rendering medical aid to a man in need and extend to him sincere |

| 24 | 25 | | best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
