45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Memories of a life well lived remain to comfort the
67 family and friends of Robert Marion Estes of Parker County, who
78 passed away on November 19, 2020, at the age of 87; and
89 WHEREAS, Bob Estes was born in Memphis, Tennessee, on October
910 16, 1933, to Charles Gullard Estes and Daisy Brown Estes, and he
1011 grew up with the companionship of a brother, Charles; after
1112 graduating from Treadwell High School in 1951, he enrolled at the
1213 University of Tennessee, where he earned a bachelor's degree in
1314 business administration; while there, he pledged Lambda Chi Alpha
1415 Fraternity; and
1516 WHEREAS, Mr. Estes was drafted into the United States Army in
1617 1954, and he went on to serve as a high-speed radio operator in
1718 Germany; after returning stateside, he wed the former Carolyn Hull,
1819 with whom he shared 60 years of marriage until her passing; he
1920 excelled in his career as a gear designer for International
2021 Harvester, an agricultural and automotive manufacturer, and was
2122 later promoted to its corporate general offices in Chicago,
2223 Illinois, to work in labor relations; in 1969, he moved to Fort
2324 Worth, where he was employed as an industrial engineer for 28 years
2425 and notably developed computerized methods for estimating machine
2526 work; and
2627 WHEREAS, A devoted family man, Mr. Estes was blessed with two
2728 sons, Robert and David, two granddaughters, Emily and Elizabeth,
2829 and a great-granddaughter, Caroline, along with many nieces and
2930 nephews; he loved the outdoors and enjoyed taking hunting trips
3031 with his sons and granddaughters; and
3132 WHEREAS, Although Bob Estes is deeply missed, he will forever
3233 be remembered with great admiration and affection by those he
3334 leaves behind; now, therefore, be it
3435 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
3536 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Robert Marion Estes
3637 and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his
3738 sons, Robert Franklin Estes and his wife, Linda, and David Carlton
3839 Estes and his wife, Marybeth; to his granddaughters, Emily Ann
3940 Bolender and her husband, Gabriel, and Elizabeth Ann Estes; to his
4041 great-granddaughter, Caroline Olivia Bolender; to his
4142 sister-in-law, Bobbie Hull; and to his other relatives and friends;
4243 and, be it further
4344 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
4445 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
4546 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Robert
4647 Marion Estes.
