5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the |

6 | 7 | | passing of Hilda Rose Seely Barton of Loving on January 20, 2021, at |

8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The daughter of Bertha Beatrice Seely and Frank |

9 | 10 | | Lafayette Seely Sr., the former Rose Seely was born in Emhouse on |

10 | 11 | | October 27, 1925; she grew up with a brother, Frank, and attended |
---|
11 | 12 | | school in her hometown before going on to graduate from the |
---|
12 | 13 | | University of Mary Hardin-Baylor; and |
---|
13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, She began teaching in Burnet, where she met her |
---|
14 | 15 | | future husband, a fellow educator, Grady Barton; after becoming a |
---|
15 | 16 | | mother in 1954, she devoted herself to raising their three |
---|
16 | 17 | | children, David, Rose Ann, and Nancy; the Bartons founded Aledo |
---|
17 | 18 | | Christian Center in 1971, and over the years, Mrs. Barton taught |
---|
18 | 19 | | countless people how to enrich their lives by embracing the power of |
---|
19 | 20 | | prayer and the grace of forgiveness; she provided spiritual |
---|
20 | 21 | | guidance to all those around her and sang hymns to brighten their |
---|
21 | 22 | | days; in her free time, she enjoyed reading poetry and other |
---|
22 | 23 | | literature; and |

23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Following the death of her husband in 2013, |

24 | 25 | | Mrs. Barton wrote a book about their journey of faith together; she |

25 | 26 | | was the cherished matriarch of a large family that grew to include |

26 | 27 | | grandchildren Joni and Jarid Yankus, Damaris and Cain Schuler, |

27 | 28 | | Nathan and Mary Gingles, Timothy and Gabi Barton, Dustin and |

28 | 29 | | Tessara Dunlap, Stephen and Kelli Barton, and Derek and Riley Jo |

29 | 30 | | Dunlap, as well as great-grandchildren Trinity Dunlap, Tate Dunlap, |

30 | 31 | | Wyatt Dunlap, Barrett Schuler, Gunner Dunlap, Rocco Yankus, Ellery |
