5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Pamela |

6 | 7 | | Brown Tarpley of Weatherford, who died on January 17, 2021, at the |

8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The daughter of Margot Clay Moseley and Winfred |

9 | 10 | | Brannan Brown, the former Pam Brown was born on November 13, 1944, |
---|
10 | 11 | | in Denver, Colorado, and grew up with three siblings, Bob, Win, and |
---|
11 | 12 | | Joan; she married Bob Tarpley in 1963 and went on to become the |
---|
12 | 13 | | mother of a son, Clay; later in life, she was further blessed with |
---|
13 | 14 | | three grandchildren, Brittany, Scotlyn, and Bryson; and |
---|
14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, After graduating from Weatherford High School, |
---|
15 | 16 | | Ms. Tarpley attended Weatherford College and the University of |
---|
16 | 17 | | North Texas; she enjoyed a long career in banking in Weatherford, |
---|
17 | 18 | | working at M&F Bank, First National Bank, and Texas Bank, and |
---|
18 | 19 | | following her retirement, she was employed with the Doss Heritage |
---|
19 | 20 | | and Culture Center, where she helped establish four summer history |
---|
20 | 21 | | camps and wrote the curricula for each camp; she was also the |
---|
21 | 22 | | coauthor of a book, Parker County Legends: Trail Bosses and Wild |
---|
22 | 23 | | Hosses, and she served as computer engineer for the Cowboy Jubilee |

23 | 24 | | radio show; and |
---|
24 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Tarpley was active as a Girl Scout in high |

25 | 26 | | school and college, and throughout her life, she took great pride in |
---|
26 | 27 | | encouraging young people, especially through her work with the |

27 | 28 | | International Western Music Association and with such summer |
---|
28 | 29 | | programs as the Cowtown Opry Music Camp; she was also involved with |

29 | 30 | | Bush Legacy Republican Women of Weatherford, the Weatherford |
---|
30 | 31 | | Downtown Business Alliance, and the Longhorn Council of Girl |
---|
31 | 32 | | Scouting, among other organizations; a woman of strong religious |
---|
32 | 33 | | faith, she attended the Church of Christ; and |
---|
33 | 34 | | WHEREAS, A loving mother and grandmother and an engaged |
---|
34 | 35 | | member of her community, Pam Tarpley enriched the lives of |
---|
35 | 36 | | countless people with her warmth, kindness, and generosity; now, |
---|
36 | 37 | | therefore, be it |

37 | 38 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |

38 | 39 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Pamela Brown |

39 | 40 | | Tarpley and extend heartfelt sympathy to her relatives and many |

40 | 41 | | friends; and, be it further |
