45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Pamela
67 Brown Tarpley of Weatherford, who died on January 17, 2021, at the
78 age of 76; and
89 WHEREAS, The daughter of Margot Clay Moseley and Winfred
910 Brannan Brown, the former Pam Brown was born on November 13, 1944,
1011 in Denver, Colorado, and grew up with three siblings, Bob, Win, and
1112 Joan; she married Bob Tarpley in 1963 and went on to become the
1213 mother of a son, Clay; later in life, she was further blessed with
1314 three grandchildren, Brittany, Scotlyn, and Bryson; and
1415 WHEREAS, After graduating from Weatherford High School,
1516 Ms. Tarpley attended Weatherford College and the University of
1617 North Texas; she enjoyed a long career in banking in Weatherford,
1718 working at M&F Bank, First National Bank, and Texas Bank, and
1819 following her retirement, she was employed with the Doss Heritage
1920 and Culture Center, where she helped establish four summer history
2021 camps and wrote the curricula for each camp; she was also the
2122 coauthor of a book, Parker County Legends: Trail Bosses and Wild
2223 Hosses, and she served as computer engineer for the Cowboy Jubilee
2324 radio show; and
2425 WHEREAS, Ms. Tarpley was active as a Girl Scout in high
2526 school and college, and throughout her life, she took great pride in
2627 encouraging young people, especially through her work with the
2728 International Western Music Association and with such summer
2829 programs as the Cowtown Opry Music Camp; she was also involved with
2930 Bush Legacy Republican Women of Weatherford, the Weatherford
3031 Downtown Business Alliance, and the Longhorn Council of Girl
3132 Scouting, among other organizations; a woman of strong religious
3233 faith, she attended the Church of Christ; and
3334 WHEREAS, A loving mother and grandmother and an engaged
3435 member of her community, Pam Tarpley enriched the lives of
3536 countless people with her warmth, kindness, and generosity; now,
3637 therefore, be it
3738 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
3839 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Pamela Brown
3940 Tarpley and extend heartfelt sympathy to her relatives and many
4041 friends; and, be it further
4142 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
4243 prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
4344 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Pamela
4445 Brown Tarpley.
