5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Residents of Eagle Pass are mourning the loss of |

6 | 7 | | Ricardo Treviño, a generous volunteer, beloved member of the |

7 | 8 | | community, and dear friend to many, who passed away on January 24, |
---|
8 | 9 | | 2021, at the age of 74; and |
---|
9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Ricardo Treviño was born in Eagle Pass on June 11, |
---|
10 | 11 | | 1946, to Antonio and Marcelina F. Treviño; raised in a family of |
---|
11 | 12 | | humble means, he learned the importance of hard work at an early |
---|
12 | 13 | | age, and he would later demonstrate a strong commitment to |
---|
13 | 14 | | bettering his circumstances and providing for his loved ones; he |
---|
14 | 15 | | graduated from Sul Ross State University with a bachelor's degree |
---|
15 | 16 | | in education and from San Jose State University with a master's |
---|
16 | 17 | | degree in mid-management; and |
---|
17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, After working as an administrator and |
---|
18 | 19 | | troubleshooter for the Alum Rock Union School District in San Jose, |
---|
19 | 20 | | California, Mr. Treviño moved back to Eagle Pass in 2001; he had a |
---|
20 | 21 | | deep sense of pride for his hometown, and he pursued a second career |
---|
21 | 22 | | as a code enforcement officer for Maverick County; and |
---|
22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Treviño was dedicated to beautifying the |
---|
23 | 24 | | community through the removal of trash, and he was responsible for |
---|
24 | 25 | | discarding more than 300,000 tires that were scattered throughout |
---|
25 | 26 | | the county; when the COVID-19 pandemic struck, he again stepped |
---|
26 | 27 | | forward to serve, personally delivering food to seniors and |
---|
27 | 28 | | residents with disabilities; over the years, he was recognized and |
---|
28 | 29 | | praised by his fellow citizens for his civic-minded efforts, and he |
---|
29 | 30 | | was affectionately known by many as "Mister T"; and |
---|
30 | 31 | | WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Treviño was blessed with |
---|
31 | 32 | | the love and support of his wife, Martha, and he took great pride in |
---|
32 | 33 | | his daughters, Jessica and Karla, and his grandchildren, Taylor, |
---|
33 | 34 | | Jayden, Hannah, and Savannah; he was deeply devoted to his faith, |
---|
34 | 35 | | and he enjoyed reading, playing poker, cracking jokes, and cheering |
---|
35 | 36 | | on his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys; and |
---|
36 | 37 | | WHEREAS, Ricardo Treviño left an indelible mark on Maverick |
---|
37 | 38 | | County, and he leaves behind a host of friends, loved ones, and |
---|
38 | 39 | | neighbors whose lives he forever enriched; now, therefore, be it |

39 | 40 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |

40 | 41 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Ricardo Treviño and |
---|
41 | 42 | | extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, |
---|
42 | 43 | | Martha Treviño; to his daughters, Jessica Treviño and Karla T. |

43 | 44 | | Moreno, and their husbands; to his grandchildren, Taylor, Jayden, |

44 | 45 | | Hannah, and Savannah; to his siblings, Blanca Treviño-Koester, |
