45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Residents of Eagle Pass are mourning the loss of
67 Ricardo Treviño, a generous volunteer, beloved member of the
78 community, and dear friend to many, who passed away on January 24,
89 2021, at the age of 74; and
910 WHEREAS, Ricardo Treviño was born in Eagle Pass on June 11,
1011 1946, to Antonio and Marcelina F. Treviño; raised in a family of
1112 humble means, he learned the importance of hard work at an early
1213 age, and he would later demonstrate a strong commitment to
1314 bettering his circumstances and providing for his loved ones; he
1415 graduated from Sul Ross State University with a bachelor's degree
1516 in education and from San Jose State University with a master's
1617 degree in mid-management; and
1718 WHEREAS, After working as an administrator and
1819 troubleshooter for the Alum Rock Union School District in San Jose,
1920 California, Mr. Treviño moved back to Eagle Pass in 2001; he had a
2021 deep sense of pride for his hometown, and he pursued a second career
2122 as a code enforcement officer for Maverick County; and
2223 WHEREAS, Mr. Treviño was dedicated to beautifying the
2324 community through the removal of trash, and he was responsible for
2425 discarding more than 300,000 tires that were scattered throughout
2526 the county; when the COVID-19 pandemic struck, he again stepped
2627 forward to serve, personally delivering food to seniors and
2728 residents with disabilities; over the years, he was recognized and
2829 praised by his fellow citizens for his civic-minded efforts, and he
2930 was affectionately known by many as "Mister T"; and
3031 WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Treviño was blessed with
3132 the love and support of his wife, Martha, and he took great pride in
3233 his daughters, Jessica and Karla, and his grandchildren, Taylor,
3334 Jayden, Hannah, and Savannah; he was deeply devoted to his faith,
3435 and he enjoyed reading, playing poker, cracking jokes, and cheering
3536 on his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys; and
3637 WHEREAS, Ricardo Treviño left an indelible mark on Maverick
3738 County, and he leaves behind a host of friends, loved ones, and
3839 neighbors whose lives he forever enriched; now, therefore, be it
3940 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
4041 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Ricardo Treviño and
4142 extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife,
4243 Martha Treviño; to his daughters, Jessica Treviño and Karla T.
4344 Moreno, and their husbands; to his grandchildren, Taylor, Jayden,
4445 Hannah, and Savannah; to his siblings, Blanca Treviño-Koester,
4546 Antonio Treviño, and Hector Treviño; and to his other relatives and
4647 friends; and, be it further
4748 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
4849 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
4950 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Ricardo
5051 Treviño.
