| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Carlos |

| 6 | 7 | | F. Santos, who passed away on May 1, 2021, at the age of 66; and |

| 7 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The son of Jesus and Francisca Santos, "Chiquis" |

| 8 | 9 | | Santos was born in Weiser, Idaho, on August 23, 1954; he grew up |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | with nine older siblings; and |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Santos was joined in matrimony to Emma Fuentes |

| 11 | 12 | | in 1973, and they shared a fulfilling relationship of 43 years until |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | her passing; together, they raised three daughters, Irma, Elsa, and |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | Karla, and their treasured family eventually grew to include 11 |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Early in his career, Mr. Santos was employed by the |

| 16 | 17 | | City of Eagle Pass; he went on to become a bus driver for the Eagle |

| 17 | 18 | | Pass Independent School District, serving in that capacity for 35 |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | years, and he was known by many in the community for his cheerful |

| 19 | 20 | | personality and dedication; he was an avid fan of the Dallas |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | Cowboys, and he delighted in doing carpentry projects and riding |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | his motorcycle; and |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Although Chiquis Santos will be deeply missed, he |

| 23 | 24 | | has left his loved ones with a wealth of memories that they will |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | forever treasure; now, therefore, be it |

| 25 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |

| 26 | 27 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Carlos F. Santos and |

| 27 | 28 | | extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his |

| 28 | 29 | | daughters, Irma Linda Santos, Elsa Patricia Santos, and Karla |

| 29 | 30 | | Reyes; to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and to his |

| 30 | 31 | | other relatives and friends; and, be it further |
