H.R. No. 1152 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Carlos Flores has been reelected to the Fort Worth City Council in 2021; and WHEREAS, In fulfilling the duties of his office, Mr. Flores will draw on a wealth of valuable experience; first elected to represent District 2 in 2017, he has served as chair of the city's Zoning Commission and Building Standards Commission and as a member of several boards and committees, including the Historic Stockyards Design District Task Force, the City Charter Review Task Force, the Master Thoroughfare Plan Task Force, and the board of directors for the Crime Control and Prevention District; and WHEREAS, A third-generation Fort Worth resident, Mr. Flores is a former president of the Northside Neighborhood Association and remains actively involved in the organization; moreover, he is a member of the Kimbell Art Museum host committee and serves on the board of the Artes de la Rosa cultural center for the arts; and WHEREAS, Mr. Flores holds a degree in aerospace engineering from The University of Texas at Arlington and has worked for such firms as Raytheon Technologies, Lockheed Martin Aeronautics, and Parker Aerospace; he belongs to the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics and the Society of Test Flight Engineers; and WHEREAS, Each day, public servants improve the quality of life for their fellow citizens in innumerable ways, and the continuing efforts of Carlos Flores will help to make Fort Worth an even better place in which to live and work; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Carlos Flores on his reelection to the Fort Worth City Council and extend to him sincere best wishes for a successful tenure; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Flores as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
