5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Rebecca Kennelly Haas has been elected mayor of |

7 | 8 | | WHEREAS, In fulfilling the duties of her office, Mayor Haas |

8 | 9 | | will draw on a wealth of valuable experience; she has lived in |

9 | 10 | | Richmond for more than half a century, and she owns Jay-Wood Trading |

10 | 11 | | Company in the city's historic downtown district; a chaplain and |

11 | 12 | | board member of Descendants of Austin's Old Three Hundred, she is |

12 | 13 | | also involved in several other historical organizations, including |

13 | 14 | | the Black Cowboy Museum, the Fort Bend County Historical |

14 | 15 | | Commission, and the Historic Richmond Association; and |

15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, The effective operation of government depends on the |

16 | 17 | | able and dedicated efforts of our public servants, and Becky Haas |

17 | 18 | | may indeed take pride in her accomplishments as she takes on this |
