45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Rebecca Kennelly Haas has been elected mayor of
67 Richmond; and
78 WHEREAS, In fulfilling the duties of her office, Mayor Haas
89 will draw on a wealth of valuable experience; she has lived in
910 Richmond for more than half a century, and she owns Jay-Wood Trading
1011 Company in the city's historic downtown district; a chaplain and
1112 board member of Descendants of Austin's Old Three Hundred, she is
1213 also involved in several other historical organizations, including
1314 the Black Cowboy Museum, the Fort Bend County Historical
1415 Commission, and the Historic Richmond Association; and
1516 WHEREAS, The effective operation of government depends on the
1617 able and dedicated efforts of our public servants, and Becky Haas
1718 may indeed take pride in her accomplishments as she takes on this
1819 challenging new role; now, therefore, be it
1920 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
2021 Legislature hereby congratulate Rebecca Kennelly Haas on her
2122 election as mayor of Richmond and extend to her sincere best wishes
2223 for a successful tenure; and, be it further
2324 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2425 prepared for Mayor Haas as an expression of high regard by the Texas
2526 House of Representatives.
