45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, The girls' softball team from Berkner High School in
67 Richardson enjoyed an outstanding 2021 season, advancing to the
78 University Interscholastic League 6A playoffs; and
89 WHEREAS, The Rams demonstrated skill and determination
910 throughout the year, and their powerful offense lit up the
1011 scoreboard in a number of games, including a commanding 22-1
1112 victory over Lake Highlands High School on April 13; Berkner racked
1213 up 13 wins in the regular season to claim second place in District
1314 7-6A and earn a spot in the UIL playoffs; and
1415 WHEREAS, In the opening round of the postseason, the Rams
1516 faced off against a talented team from Grand Prairie High School in
1617 a bi-district contest on April 30; the Berkner players turned in a
1718 valiant effort but ultimately fell short, ending the season with a
1819 record of 13 wins and 5 losses; and
1920 WHEREAS, Through hard work and an unwavering resolve to give
2021 their very best, the members of the Berkner Rams softball team
2122 earned the admiration of their fellow students and their many
2223 community supporters, and they may indeed reflect with pride on a
2324 job well done; now, therefore, be it
2425 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
2526 Legislature hereby congratulate the Berkner High School softball
2627 team on its success during the 2021 season and extend to all those
2728 associated with the team sincere best wishes for the future; and, be
2829 it further
2930 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3031 prepared for the Rams as an expression of high regard by the Texas
3132 House of Representatives.
