| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Judy Moore has been named the 2021 Teacher Advocate |

| 7 | 8 | | WHEREAS, With 760 member schools throughout the state, TPCSA |

| 8 | 9 | | supports policies that allow charter schools to continue providing |

| 9 | 10 | | a high quality education to the more than 300,000 students they |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | serve; the organization also equips charter school leaders, |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | teachers, and parents to advocate for their own schools; and |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Judy Moore is a middle school teacher at Austin |

| 13 | 14 | | Achieve Public Schools, and she serves as a coach and mentor for the |

| 14 | 15 | | TPCSA Teacher Advocacy Leadership Institute, helping the |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | organization's fellows share their experiences and priorities with |

| 16 | 17 | | elected officials; during the COVID-19 outbreak, she was |

| 17 | 18 | | instrumental in organizing a virtual rally for teachers across the |

| 18 | 19 | | state as well as a virtual meeting with her students and a state |

| 19 | 20 | | lawmaker; moreover, she was featured in Reform Austin News to |

| 20 | 21 | | discuss the ways in which she and her colleagues have adapted to |

| 21 | 22 | | changes in instruction methods during the pandemic; and |

| 22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Judy Moore has worked tirelessly to benefit her |

| 23 | 24 | | students, her fellow teachers, and schoolchildren throughout the |

| 24 | 25 | | state, and she may indeed reflect with pride on her many |

| 25 | 26 | | contributions; now, therefore, be it |

| 26 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
