| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, First held in 1991, the DFW Great 100 Nurses |

| 9 | 10 | | Celebration recognizes 100 registered nurses across the |

| 10 | 11 | | Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex for their exceptional contributions to |

| 11 | 12 | | the nursing profession; more than 50,000 nurses practice in the |

| 12 | 13 | | area, and the accolade raises awareness of their community service |

| 13 | 14 | | and tireless efforts in behalf of patient care, research, and |

| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, DFW Great 100 Nurses has named 3,000 honorees since |

| 16 | 17 | | its inception, and Pam Sherrill is only the 63rd school nurse to be |

| 17 | 18 | | recognized by the program; drawing upon her 26 years of experience, |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | she currently serves as the nurse facilitator for Mesquite ISD; in |

| 19 | 20 | | that role, she travels to each campus in the district, supporting |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | her fellow school nurses in their important work; ably responding |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | to the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, Ms. Sherrill has helped |

| 22 | 23 | | oversee services that promote the physical, mental, and emotional |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | health of students, staff members, and families; and |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Through her unwavering commitment to the well-being |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | of the students and faculty in the Mesquite Independent School |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | District, Pam Sherrill has distinguished herself as an outstanding |

| 27 | 28 | | role model in the nursing community, and she is indeed deserving of |

| 28 | 29 | | this prestigious accolade; now, therefore, be it |

| 29 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
