| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The nonprofit coffee shop Well Grounded Coffee |

| 6 | 7 | | Community in Dallas celebrated its grand opening in December 2020, |

| 7 | 8 | | and this unique and compassionate enterprise is truly deserving of |

| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Established by co-presidents Natalie and Michael |

| 10 | 11 | | Huscheck in the Casa Linda area of East Dallas, the shop employs |

| 11 | 12 | | four formerly incarcerated women who are also mothers, providing |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | them with jobs as well as the opportunity to rebuild their lives |

| 13 | 14 | | after prison; and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, All of the shop's employees are members of Exodus |

| 15 | 16 | | Ministries, a program which provides housing to nonviolent |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | ex-offenders and their children, enabling them to begin new lives |

| 18 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Two of the shop's first employees, Natasha Weir and |

| 19 | 20 | | Maricela Espinosa, helped develop the menu and prepare the shop for |

| 20 | 21 | | its grand opening, and new hires Angela Walterscheid and Hannah |

| 21 | 22 | | Dorsey are contributing to the shop's welcoming and collaborative |

| 22 | 23 | | atmosphere; and |

| 23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, By providing these hardworking and dedicated women |

| 24 | 25 | | with jobs and the chance to learn valuable skills, Well Grounded |

| 25 | 26 | | Coffee Community is helping them to gain confidence and purpose as |

| 26 | 27 | | productive members of society; now, therefore, be it |

| 27 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |

| 28 | 29 | | Legislature hereby commemorate the grand opening of Well Grounded |
