| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Collin College has been presented with a 2020-2021 |

| 6 | 7 | | Innovation of the Year Award by the League for Innovation in the |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The award was given to Collin College to recognize |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | its creation of a new health care benefit plan called CougarCare |

| 10 | 11 | | that offers telehealth and mental health coverage at no cost to |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | students, adjunct faculty, and part-time staff; the COVID-19 |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | pandemic, which has imposed significant stress on students, |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | provided the impetus for the development of the program, and Collin |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | College's Board of Trustees approved an investment of up to |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | $750,000 for it in July 2020; and |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Through the CougarCare plan, eligible individuals |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | can receive free on-demand virtual-visit medical care and mental |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | health counseling from licensed physicians and counselors anywhere |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | in the United States, with services available 24 hours a day, 7 days |

| 20 | 21 | | a week; and |

| 21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Collin College's investment in the CougarCare |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | program is a testament to the institution's deep commitment to the |

| 23 | 24 | | success, morale, and overall well-being of its students, faculty, |

| 24 | 25 | | and staff, and this commendable endeavor is most deserving of |

| 25 | 26 | | special recognition; now, therefore, be it |

| 26 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |

| 27 | 28 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Collin College on its receipt of a |
