| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Raychel Polk has ably served her fellow Texans as an |

| 6 | 7 | | aide and scheduler in the office of State Representative Chris |

| 7 | 8 | | Turner during the 87th Legislative Session; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Polk has provided vital |

| 9 | 10 | | assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks; in |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | addition to gaining valuable experience in the field of public |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | service, she has learned more about the legislative process and the |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; her many |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | responsibilities have included managing Representative Turner's |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | schedule, responding to invitations and meeting requests, |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | processing mail, researching bills, drafting talking points, and |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | preparing bill and floor packets and other materials; and |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Polk is currently a sophomore at Baylor |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | University, where she is on track to graduate with a bachelor's |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | degree in political science in May 2023; an honors student, she has |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | served as a residence hall leader and as tournament chair for Baylor |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | Mock Trial, and she is the professional chair and recruitment chair |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | of Alpha Kappa Psi business fraternity; while in high school, she |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | was elected student body president, and she distinguished herself |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | in additional leadership roles such as vice president of the |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | National Honor Society and as vice president and event coordinator |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | of the Multicultural Club; and |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed her |

| 28 | 29 | | duties as a legislative aide with skill and dedication, and she is |

| 29 | 30 | | indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, |

| 31 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
