5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Tammy Dubberke of Arlington retired as director of |

6 | 7 | | constituent services and office manager for State Representative |

7 | 8 | | Chris Turner on March 15, 2021, following more than a decade of |

8 | 9 | | exemplary service; and |
---|
9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Dubberke worked in Representative Turner's |
---|
10 | 11 | | office from 2009 to 2011 and again from 2013 to 2021, and over the |
---|
11 | 12 | | course of her tenure, she tirelessly supported the representative's |
---|
12 | 13 | | efforts in behalf of his constituents; an astute and empathetic |
---|
13 | 14 | | problem-solver, she helped residents with hundreds of matters, from |
---|
14 | 15 | | workers' compensation and unemployment claims to missing child |
---|
15 | 16 | | support payments; through a host of outreach events, she informed |
---|
16 | 17 | | constituents about ways to afford college, lower utility bills, |
---|
17 | 18 | | receive veterans' benefits, and access health care more easily; and |
---|
18 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Dubberke took part in any meeting that offered |
---|
19 | 20 | | an opportunity to learn about the issues and how to address them, |
---|
20 | 21 | | and she met with elected officials and stakeholders to ensure that |
---|
21 | 22 | | everyday citizens were not forgotten; her knowledge of the |
---|
22 | 23 | | community allowed her to provide vital input to the representative, |
---|
23 | 24 | | and she became the staff expert on transportation, utilities, |
---|
24 | 25 | | health and human services, and many other issues; over the years, |
---|
25 | 26 | | she assisted the representative in the completion of a number of |
---|
26 | 27 | | important projects, including passage of payday lending |
---|
27 | 28 | | ordinances, the Rosa Parks Memorial Parkway, and the Spur 303 |
---|
28 | 29 | | pedestrian improvement project; and |
---|
29 | 30 | | WHEREAS, A certified paralegal and graduate of Tarrant County |
---|
30 | 31 | | College, Ms. Dubberke has also served the public as a child support |
---|
31 | 32 | | officer in the Office of the Attorney General in Dallas; she |
---|
32 | 33 | | previously served as a volunteer coordinator for Representative |
---|
33 | 34 | | Turner's campaign and worked as a legal assistant in a private law |
---|
34 | 35 | | practice; early in her career, she honed her customer service |
---|
35 | 36 | | skills as a Southwest Airlines reservation sales agent; and |
---|
36 | 37 | | WHEREAS, Throughout her tenure in the office of |

37 | 38 | | Representative Turner, Tammy Dubberke impressed colleagues and |
---|
38 | 39 | | constituents alike with her exceptional skill, dedication, |
---|
39 | 40 | | initiative, and perseverance, and her contributions have earned the |
---|
40 | 41 | | lasting admiration and appreciation of innumerable people; now, |

41 | 42 | | therefore, be it |

42 | 43 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |

43 | 44 | | Legislature hereby honor Tammy Dubberke for her service as director |

44 | 45 | | of constituent services and office manager in the office of State |

45 | 46 | | Representative Chris Turner and extend to her sincere best wishes |
