45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Sarah Sutar of Sienna Crossing Elementary School has
67 been named the 2021 Texas Teacher of the Year by Texas Teachers of
78 Tomorrow; and
89 WHEREAS, Texas Teachers of Tomorrow is a state-accredited
910 program that helps aspiring educators obtain their teacher
1011 certification; Sarah Sutar was chosen for the organization's 2021
1112 Teacher of the Year award out of more than 500 candidates; and
1213 WHEREAS, Ms. Sutar teaches fifth-grade math and science at
1314 Sienna Crossing Elementary in the Fort Bend Independent School
1415 District; she was hired in 2020, and during her first year as an
1516 educator, she completed an Alternative Certification Program and
1617 passed Texas Examinations of Educator Standards while navigating
1718 the unique challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic; and
1819 WHEREAS, Sarah Sutar exemplifies the passion, determination,
1920 and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of our best teachers,
2021 and she has set a standard of excellence to which all in her
2122 profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it
2223 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
2324 Legislature hereby congratulate Sarah Sutar on her selection as the
2425 2021 Texas Teacher of the Year by Texas Teachers of Tomorrow and
2526 extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success with her
2627 important work; and, be it further
2728 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2829 prepared for Ms. Sutar as an expression of high regard by the Texas
2930 House of Representatives.
