| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Cynthia Kelly was named the 2018-2019 Teacher of the |

| 7 | 8 | | WHEREAS, A strong education is vital for young Texans to |

| 8 | 9 | | become successful and productive adults, and those individuals who |

| 9 | 10 | | dedicate their careers to teaching are helping to ensure that the |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | future of the Lone Star State rests in capable hands; and |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Kelly hails from southern Illinois, and she |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | earned her bachelor's degree from Greenville University; for the |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | past 19 years, she has been teaching in the Edgewood Independent |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | School District, where she first worked at Hoelscher Elementary |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | before transferring to Gardendale; as an educator, she is committed |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | to helping her students achieve their dreams, and she enjoys |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | contributing to the supportive school culture and learning |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | environment at Edgewood ISD; and |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Cynthia Kelly exemplifies the passion, |

| 20 | 21 | | determination, and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of our |

| 21 | 22 | | best teachers, and she has set a standard of excellence to which all |

| 22 | 23 | | in her profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it |

| 23 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |

| 24 | 25 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Cynthia Kelly on her selection as |
