45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Rosalie Rodriguez was named the 2018-2019 Teacher of
67 the Year at Memorial High School in San Antonio; and
78 WHEREAS, A strong education is vital for young Texans to
89 become successful and productive adults, and those individuals who
910 dedicate their careers to teaching are helping to ensure that the
1011 future of the Lone Star State rests in capable hands; and
1112 WHEREAS, After earning her bachelor's degree from The Ohio
1213 State University in 2012, Mrs. Rodriguez began her career as a
1314 consultant for the Cotulla Independent School District, and she
1415 went on to teach middle school from 2013 to 2017; a valued member of
1516 the Edgewood ISD faculty, she currently teaches Algebra I at
1617 Memorial High School, where she has worked for the past two years;
1718 and
1819 WHEREAS, Rosalie Rodriguez exemplifies the passion,
1920 determination, and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of our
2021 best teachers, and she has set a standard of excellence to which all
2122 in her profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it
2223 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
2324 Legislature hereby congratulate Rosalie Rodriguez on her selection
2425 as the 2018-2019 Teacher of the Year for Memorial High School and
2526 extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success with her
2627 important work; and, be it further
2728 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2829 prepared for Mrs. Rodriguez as an expression of high regard by the
2930 Texas House of Representatives.
