| 8 | 9 | | heroic efforts in response to this unprecedented emergency; and |

| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, When the winter storm struck on the weekend of |

| 10 | 11 | | February 13 and 14, arctic blasts dropped temperatures to single |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | digits across the state, and by late Sunday night, problems with the |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | state's power grid had left millions of Texans without electrical |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | power; and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Electrical utility line and generation workers |

| 15 | 16 | | throughout Texas responded by working tirelessly around the clock |

| 16 | 17 | | in extremely adverse conditions to restore power to the state's |

| 17 | 18 | | communities; and |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Thanks to the courage, hard work, and fortitude of |

| 19 | 20 | | these line and generation workers, power was restored, and they |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | indeed deserve special recognition for the vital role they played |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | in helping Texans to recover from this devastating event; now, |

| 22 | 23 | | therefore, be it |

| 23 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |

| 24 | 25 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the electrical utility line and |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | generation workers of Texas and extend to them sincere gratitude |

| 26 | 27 | | for their perseverance and success in restoring electrical power to |

| 27 | 28 | | the people of Texas. |
