| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The tragic passing of Andrew Lopez Jr. of Red Oak on |

| 6 | 7 | | April 17, 2021, at the age of 19, is a heartbreaking loss to his many |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Born in Edinburg on September 17, 2001, to Lydia |

| 9 | 10 | | Peralta and Andrew Lopez, Andrew Lopez Jr. grew up with the |

| 10 | 11 | | companionship of three younger brothers, Anthony, C. J., and |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | Adrian; he was a member of the Class of 2021 at Red Oak High School, |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | and after graduating, he had plans to study to be an auto |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | technician; in his free time, he enjoyed working on cars, a passion |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | he shared with his brothers and his dad, Christopher Treviño; |

| 15 | 16 | | through hard work, he was able to save enough money to purchase a |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | vehicle of his own, a 1999 Acura Integra, which was his pride and |

| 17 | 18 | | joy; and |

| 18 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Lopez was a caring and attentive young man who |

| 19 | 20 | | always put the needs of others ahead of his own; he embraced his |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | role as the eldest sibling and often served as a handyman around the |

| 21 | 22 | | home; he also took pleasure in listening to music and playing video |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | games with his brothers and friends, and he always made time for his |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | family, whether by joining them on trips to the lake or by showing |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | off his cooking skills for them at Sunday breakfasts and barbecues; |

| 26 | 27 | | WHEREAS, Although his passing leaves a tremendous void, those |

| 27 | 28 | | fortunate enough to have known Andrew Lopez Jr. will forever |

| 28 | 29 | | remember his generous heart, his enthusiasm for life, and his |

| 29 | 30 | | unwavering devotion to those he loved; now, therefore, be it |

| 30 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |

| 31 | 32 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Andrew Lopez Jr. |
