45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, The Honorable KP George of the Fort Bend County
67 Commissioners Court has demonstrated an admiral commitment to
78 serving his fellow Texans during the COVID-19 pandemic; and
89 WHEREAS, This devoted public official has worked tirelessly
910 to safeguard the health of area residents while ensuring that they
1011 continue to receive essential public services; although the
1112 pandemic has placed immense burdens on the local community, Judge
1213 George has risen to this unprecedented challenge, and his efforts
1314 have been instrumental in helping Fort Bend County navigate the
1415 crisis; and
1516 WHEREAS, Elected in 2018, Judge George is the executive of
1617 Fort Bend County's governing body and presides over the
1718 commissioners court, which oversees the county's more than 3,000
1819 employees and its nearly $400 million budget; moreover, he serves
1920 as the director of the Office of Homeland Security and Emergency
2021 Management, which is responsible for disaster preparedness in the
2122 county; and
2223 WHEREAS, KP George's decisive leadership has greatly
2324 benefited the citizens of Fort Bend County during a time of crisis,
2425 and he is truly deserving of special recognition for his impressive
2526 achievements; now, therefore, be it
2627 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
2728 Legislature hereby commend the Honorable KP George for his service
2829 to Fort Bend County during the COVID-19 pandemic and extend to him
2930 sincere best wishes for continued success in his important work;
3031 and, be it further
3132 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3233 prepared for Judge George as an expression of high regard by the
3334 Texas House of Representatives.
