| 11 | 12 | | pandemic has placed immense burdens on the local community, Chief |

| 12 | 13 | | Berezin has risen to this unprecedented challenge, and his efforts |

| 13 | 14 | | have been instrumental in helping Missouri City navigate the |

| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Over the course of his more than three decades with |

| 16 | 17 | | the Missouri City Police Department, Chief Berezin has held a |

| 17 | 18 | | variety of positions, including field training officer, crime scene |

| 18 | 19 | | investigator, patrol lieutenant, and assistant chief of police; |

| 19 | 20 | | since being appointed as the agency's chief in 2014, he has |

| 20 | 21 | | pioneered a number of important initiatives; these include the |

| 21 | 22 | | development of the city's first police Mini-Station and motorcycle |

| 22 | 23 | | traffic enforcement unit and the establishment of the community |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | outreach program, which enables residents and officers to |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | collaborate on crime prevention efforts; and |

| 25 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Mike Berezin's decisive leadership has greatly |

| 26 | 27 | | benefited the citizens of Missouri City during a time of crisis, and |

| 27 | 28 | | he is truly deserving of special recognition for his impressive |

| 28 | 29 | | achievements; now, therefore, be it |

| 29 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
