| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the program |

| 10 | 11 | | was established through a partnership between Hill Country |

| 11 | 12 | | Community Ministries and the offices of State Representative John |

| 12 | 13 | | Bucy III and a bipartisan group of local leaders to check in on area |

| 13 | 14 | | senior citizens and people with disabilities and to provide them |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | with food deliveries; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, This noteworthy initiative benefits from many |

| 16 | 17 | | dedicated volunteers, including Mr. Brown, who has given generously |

| 17 | 18 | | of his time to help some of the most vulnerable local residents; on |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | March 27, 2020, the program made its first contactless deliveries |

| 19 | 20 | | to those with an urgent need for food; the service has since grown |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | to support more than 120 families each week, and volunteers have |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | delivered upwards of 40,000 meals; and |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Through his diligent work with the Neighbor to |

| 23 | 24 | | Neighbor Food and Wellness Program, Randy Brown has demonstrated |

| 24 | 25 | | the power that all citizens have to make a positive difference, and |

| 25 | 26 | | it is indeed fitting that he be recognized for his commitment to |

| 26 | 27 | | being a force for good; now, therefore, be it |

| 27 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
