| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Family and friends will forever treasure their |

| 6 | 7 | | memories of Roy Hayden Kinslow, who passed away on August 20, 2020, |

| 7 | 8 | | at the age of 95; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Roy Kinslow was born in Dallas on June 7, 1925, to |

| 9 | 10 | | A. V. Kinslow Sr. and Nannie Ray Kinslow, and he grew up with three |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | brothers, Kenneth, A. V., and Jon; after graduating from Sunset |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | High School in 1942, he answered his nation's call to duty and |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | served as a high-speed Morse code radio operator with the U.S. Army |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | Air Corps in New Guinea during World War II; and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, A proud Aggie, Mr. Kinslow earned his bachelor's |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | degree in industrial engineering at Texas A&M University, and he |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | went on to receive his master's degree and Ph.D. from The University |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | of Texas at Dallas; he was a highly respected safety engineer, and |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | in 2007, his half century of service was recognized by the Texas |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | Board of Professional Engineers; he was also active in his |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | community with Oak Cliff Masonic Lodge No. 705 and First Baptist |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | Church of Farmers Branch; and |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Kinslow was the proud father of five children, |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | Kerry, Stephen, Dean, Jeff, and Suzette, and he was further blessed |

| 24 | 25 | | with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Roy Kinslow lived a full and generous life devoted |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | to his family, his profession, and his community, and he leaves |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | behind a legacy of service that his loved ones can remember with |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | pride; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 29 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |

| 30 | 31 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Roy Hayden Kinslow |

| 31 | 32 | | and extend heartfelt sympathy to all who mourn his passing; and, be |
