45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the
67 passing of Roberto M. Soto of Del Rio on March 14, 2021, at the age
78 of 76; and
89 WHEREAS, Born on February 10, 1945, "Red" Soto was the son of
910 Alfonso and Concha Soto, and he grew up with the companionship of
1011 his two siblings, Anabelle and Alfonso; he enjoyed a rewarding
1112 career as a teacher and coach with the San Felipe Independent School
1213 District that spanned 36 years; and
1314 WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Soto benefited from the
1415 love and support of his wife, Rose, with whom he shared a fulfilling
1516 union of more than four decades; he was the proud father of two
1617 sons, Alan and Robert, and with the passing years, he was further
1718 blessed with two grandsons, Alan and Cole; this devoted family man
1819 was happiest when his loved ones were all together, and he looked
1920 forward to every opportunity to visit with his grandchildren; and
2021 WHEREAS, Those who were privileged to share in this treasured
2122 man's love and friendship will always remember him with great
2223 tenderness and affection; now, therefore, be it
2324 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
2425 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Roberto M. Soto and
2526 extend sincere condolences to all who mourn his passing; and, be it
2627 further
2728 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2829 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
2930 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Red Soto.
