45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Members of the Texas Building Owners and Managers
67 Association are celebrating Texas BOMA Virtual Advocacy Day on
78 February 24, 2021; and
89 WHEREAS, Established in 1937 as the state federated
910 organization of BOMA International, Texas BOMA represents the
1011 interests of stakeholders in the commercial real estate business;
1112 it is composed of more than 2,500 members statewide and six
1213 federated associations in Austin, Corpus Christi, Dallas, Fort
1314 Worth, Houston, and San Antonio; its members support over 100,000
1415 jobs and add billions of dollars to the state's economy; and
1516 WHEREAS, Texas BOMA is aligned with its parent organization
1617 and local affiliates in working to reduce the environmental impact
1718 of development by advancing energy efficiency and sustainability
1819 initiatives; since 2007, BOMA International has been honored by the
1920 Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy
2021 with 13 ENERGY STAR Sustained Excellence Partner of the Year
2122 Awards; and
2223 WHEREAS, In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic greatly affected our
2324 state and its business community, and the commercial real estate
2425 sector has played a vital role in reopening and recovery efforts;
2526 building owners and managers have dedicated themselves to
26- maintaining operations and ensuring the continuation of services,
27- and businesses and employers have relied on these essential workers
28- to provide the safe, secure, and healthy environments necessary to
29- bring Texans back to work and revitalize the economy of the Lone

3131 WHEREAS, For more than eight decades, Texas BOMA has served
3232 as a voice for those who work in the commercial real estate industry
3333 while helping to promote responsible building practices, and this
3434 legislative day provides a fitting opportunity to honor the
3535 organization and its members; now, therefore, be it
3636 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
3737 Legislature hereby recognize the Texas Building Owners and Managers
3838 Association on the occasion of its 2021 Virtual Advocacy Day; and,
3939 be it further
4040 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
4141 prepared for the association as an expression of high regard by the
4242 Texas House of Representatives.
