8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Established in 1937 as the state federated |

9 | 10 | | organization of BOMA International, Texas BOMA represents the |

10 | 11 | | interests of stakeholders in the commercial real estate business; |

11 | 12 | | it is composed of more than 2,500 members statewide and six |
---|
12 | 13 | | federated associations in Austin, Corpus Christi, Dallas, Fort |
---|
13 | 14 | | Worth, Houston, and San Antonio; its members support over 100,000 |
---|
14 | 15 | | jobs and add billions of dollars to the state's economy; and |

15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Texas BOMA is aligned with its parent organization |

16 | 17 | | and local affiliates in working to reduce the environmental impact |

17 | 18 | | of development by advancing energy efficiency and sustainability |
---|
18 | 19 | | initiatives; since 2007, BOMA International has been honored by the |

19 | 20 | | Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy |

20 | 21 | | with 13 ENERGY STAR Sustained Excellence Partner of the Year |

22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic greatly affected our |

23 | 24 | | state and its business community, and the commercial real estate |

24 | 25 | | sector has played a vital role in reopening and recovery efforts; |

25 | 26 | | building owners and managers have dedicated themselves to |

26 | | - | maintaining operations and ensuring the continuation of services, |

27 | | - | and businesses and employers have relied on these essential workers |

28 | | - | to provide the safe, secure, and healthy environments necessary to |

29 | | - | bring Texans back to work and revitalize the economy of the Lone |
