| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Abby Springs has ably served her fellow Texans as a |

| 7 | 8 | | Representative Celia Israel during the 87th Legislative Session; |

| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Springs has provided |

| 10 | 11 | | vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks, |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | which have included researching and analyzing legislation and |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | helping with social media content, constituent correspondence, and |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | data entry; in addition to gaining valuable experience in the field |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | of public service, she has learned more about the legislative |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | process and the issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; and |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Springs is currently enrolled at The University |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | of Texas at Austin, where she is working toward degrees in |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | government and communication studies; during her time at UT, she |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | has completed internships for the City of Austin, the MJ Hegar for |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | Texas campaign, and Progress Texas, and she has further served as a |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | research intern for the university's Government Department; |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | moreover, she has worked as an associate editor, copy editor, and |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | columnist for the Daily Texan, the student newspaper at UT; this |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | coming fall, she will be pursuing another exciting opportunity as |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | an intern for West Wing Writers; and |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed her |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | duties as a communications and administrative aide with skill and |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | dedication, and she is indeed deserving of special recognition for |
|---|
| 29 | 30 | | her fine work; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 30 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |

| 31 | 32 | | Legislature hereby commend Abby Springs for her service as a |
|---|
| 32 | 33 | | communications and administrative aide in the office of State |
|---|
| 33 | 34 | | Representative Celia Israel and extend to her sincere best wishes |
