| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, David King retired from the board of directors of |

| 6 | 7 | | the Angelina & Neches River Authority on April 13, 2020, drawing to |

| 7 | 8 | | a close an exemplary tenure that spanned nearly 12 years; and |
|---|
| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Mr. King was appointed to the ANRA board of |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | directors by Governor Rick Perry in May 2008; over the course of his |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | two terms, he held the offices of vice president, |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | secretary/treasurer, and secretary pro tem, helping the authority |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | meet its responsibilities of managing water resources for a |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | 17-county area; and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, An admired civic leader, Mr. King belongs to the EMS |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | Star of Texas Award Advisory Committee and is a board member for The |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | Blood Center East Texas; through the years, he has lent his time and |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | talent to many organizations, including the Nacogdoches County |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | Chamber of Commerce, the Nacogdoches Area United Way, the Deep East |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | Texas Career/Tech Partnership Advisory Council, the Samaritan |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | Counseling Center of East Texas, and Nacogdoches County Opportunity |

| 21 | 22 | | for a Better Learning Experience; he is an active member of the |

| 22 | 23 | | Republican Party and has served as a delegate for national and state |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | conventions; and |

| 24 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Mr. King has resided in Nacogdoches County |

| 25 | 26 | | throughout his life and has been employed by Foretravel Motorcoach |

| 26 | 27 | | since 1972; in all his endeavors, he enjoys the love and support of |

| 27 | 28 | | his wife of 55 years, Kathy, as well as their four children and five |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | grandchildren; and |
|---|
| 29 | 30 | | WHEREAS, David King has made significant contributions to |
|---|
| 30 | 31 | | advancing the important mission of the Angelina & Neches River |
|---|
| 31 | 32 | | Authority, and he may take well-deserved pride in his outstanding |

| 32 | 33 | | record of achievement; now, therefore, be it |

| 33 | 34 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |

| 34 | 35 | | Legislature hereby congratulate David King on his retirement from |

| 35 | 36 | | the Angelina & Neches River Authority board of directors and extend |

| 36 | 37 | | to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
