| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Texas communities are made richer and stronger by |

| 7 | 7 | | behalf of others, and the work carried out by well-known football |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | players Aaron Jones and Alvin Jones in the El Paso area exemplifies |

| 9 | 9 | | civic engagement at its finest; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Twin brothers Aaron and Alvin Jones moved to El Paso |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | at age 12 when their parents relocated to the city while serving in |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | the U.S. Army; standout athletes at Burges High School, the |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | brothers enjoyed successful college football careers at The |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | University of Texas at El Paso and then joined the elite ranks of |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | the National Football League; Alvin's career has included a season |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | with the Baltimore Ravens organization while Aaron has become a top |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | NFL running back with the Green Bay Packers; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Deeply committed to helping others, the brothers |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | have established A&A All The Way Foundation, a nonprofit |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | organization that's active in El Paso and Wisconsin; providing |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | food, clothing, and other items to those in need, the foundation |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | seeks to positively impact the lives of young people and to |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | emphasize the importance of education, unity, and diversity; in |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | 2020, A&A All The Way partnered with Albertsons and Festival Foods |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | to give away turkeys at Thanksgiving, and the group presented bikes |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | to students at Hawkins Elementary School in El Paso during the |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | holiday season; and |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | WHEREAS, The Jones brothers have also mentored area students |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | by conducting a Youth Skills Camp at their high school alma mater; |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | in addition, they have made special appearances at Fort Bliss to |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | honor the troops stationed there and have visited the Las Palmas |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | Medical Center cancer facility to show support for young patients; |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | moreover, the two honored the memory of their recently deceased |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | father, Alvin Jones Sr., and his commitment to service by |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | surprising students from two local elementary schools with new |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | tennis shoes; and |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | WHEREAS, Aaron and Alvin Jones have demonstrated a lasting |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | commitment to making El Paso a better place for all, and in so |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | doing, they have set an inspiring example of compassion and |
|---|
| 40 | 40 | | generosity; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 41 | 41 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
|---|
| 42 | 42 | | Legislature hereby honor Aaron Jones and Alvin Jones for their |

| 43 | 43 | | contributions to the El Paso community and extend to them sincere |

| 44 | 44 | | best wishes for success in their charitable initiatives; and, be it |
