| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories |

| 6 | 7 | | of Brent Paul Marceaux of Bay City, who passed away on May 6, 2021, |

| 7 | 8 | | at the age of 64; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The son of Paul and Helen Marceaux, Brent Marceaux |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | was born on August 29, 1956, in Kaplan, Louisiana, and grew up with |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | three siblings, Gerri, Keith, and Sandy; and |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Active in his community, Mr. Marceaux was a member |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | of the city council in Bay City at the time of his passing, and he |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | also served on the Bay City and Holy Cross school boards; moreover, |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | he participated in such civic organizations as the Knights of |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | Columbus and the Lions Club, and he was a valued congregant of |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | St. Mark's Episcopal Church; and |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Marceaux was a talented cook and was especially |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | renowned for his Cajun cuisine; he shared his culinary skills with |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | others through his catering business, as a volunteer for |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | fundraisers and benefits, and in many other settings; in his |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | leisure time, he delighted in fishing, camping, traveling, and |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | gardening; and |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Marceaux enjoyed the love |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | and support of his wife, Kim, with whom he shared a rewarding |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | marriage that spanned 46 years, and he took great pride in his |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | children, Shawn and Julie; with the passing years, he had the |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | pleasure of seeing his family grow to include four grandchildren, |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | Fisher, Beatrice, Wyatt, and Hank; and |
|---|
| 29 | 30 | | WHEREAS, Known for his kind and generous nature, his |
|---|
| 30 | 31 | | unwavering devotion to his loved ones, and his genuine concern for |
|---|
| 31 | 32 | | others, Brent Marceaux brightened the world for all who knew him, |
|---|
| 32 | 33 | | and they will forever hold him close in their hearts; now, |

| 34 | 35 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |

| 35 | 36 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Brent Paul Marceaux |
