45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories
67 of Ray Pace of McKinney, who passed away on March 23, 2021, at the
78 age of 79; and
89 WHEREAS, The son of Julian and Ruby Pace, Ray Pace was born on
910 September 17, 1941, in Abilene, and grew up with a brother, Julian;
1011 after graduating from Waco High School in 1959, he attended Texas
1112 Tech University and later received a bachelor's degree in business,
1213 economics, and finance from Baylor University; and
1314 WHEREAS, In 1962, Mr. Pace married the love of his life, the
1415 former Sondra Kay Nelson, and they shared nearly six decades
1516 together; he took great pride in his daughters, Karen and Keli, and
1617 with the passing years, he had the pleasure of seeing his family
1718 grow to include four grandchildren, Wyatt, Ty, Karis, and Kyle; and
1819 WHEREAS, Mr. Pace worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas
1920 for 13 years before founding The Pace Group, a health care
2021 consulting firm; a valued member of his community, he served on the
2122 boards of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Camp Fire,
2223 Marketplace Ministries, and several area banks; to honor his wife's
2324 volunteerism, he established the Sondra Nelson Pace Foundation,
2425 which has supported several youth and Christian organizations; and
2526 WHEREAS, Admired for his kindness and generosity, Ray Pace
2627 lived a caring and purposeful life dedicated to his faith, his
2728 family, and his friends, and he leaves behind a record of service
2829 that his loved ones can remember with pride; now, therefore, be it
2930 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
3031 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Ray Pace and extend
3132 sincere condolences to all who mourn his passing; and, be it further
3233 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3334 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
3435 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Ray Pace.
