| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories |

| 6 | 7 | | of Ray Pace of McKinney, who passed away on March 23, 2021, at the |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The son of Julian and Ruby Pace, Ray Pace was born on |

| 9 | 10 | | September 17, 1941, in Abilene, and grew up with a brother, Julian; |

| 10 | 11 | | after graduating from Waco High School in 1959, he attended Texas |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | Tech University and later received a bachelor's degree in business, |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | economics, and finance from Baylor University; and |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, In 1962, Mr. Pace married the love of his life, the |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | former Sondra Kay Nelson, and they shared nearly six decades |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | together; he took great pride in his daughters, Karen and Keli, and |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | with the passing years, he had the pleasure of seeing his family |

| 17 | 18 | | grow to include four grandchildren, Wyatt, Ty, Karis, and Kyle; and |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Pace worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | for 13 years before founding The Pace Group, a health care |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | consulting firm; a valued member of his community, he served on the |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | boards of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Camp Fire, |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | Marketplace Ministries, and several area banks; to honor his wife's |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | volunteerism, he established the Sondra Nelson Pace Foundation, |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | which has supported several youth and Christian organizations; and |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Admired for his kindness and generosity, Ray Pace |

| 26 | 27 | | lived a caring and purposeful life dedicated to his faith, his |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | family, and his friends, and he leaves behind a record of service |

| 28 | 29 | | that his loved ones can remember with pride; now, therefore, be it |

| 29 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |

| 30 | 31 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Ray Pace and extend |

| 31 | 32 | | sincere condolences to all who mourn his passing; and, be it further |
