| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories |

| 6 | 7 | | of James Kemp of McKinney, who passed away on December 29, 2020, at |
|---|
| 7 | 8 | | the age of 70; and |
|---|
| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The son of Richard and Muriel Kemp, Jim Kemp was born |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | on September 24, 1950, in Bentonville, Arkansas, and grew up with |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | five siblings, Ruth, Joann, Helen, Richard, and Debbie; he |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | graduated from South Tahoe High School in California and went on to |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | attend Mississippi State University; and |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Kemp served in the U.S. Air Force as a member of |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | the military police at Hahn Air Base in Germany and later as a |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | navigator and radar navigator on B-52 bombers; in the course of a |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | career in computer programming, he worked as a technical trainer at |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | ARGO Data; furthermore, he was an adjunct professor at TCJC and |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | Collin College; and |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Kemp benefited his community as a volunteer with |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | the Collin County Sheriff's Office, and he was an amateur radio |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | operator; a man of deep faith, he was a deacon at Waddill Street |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | Baptist Church; and |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Kemp enjoyed the love and |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | support of his wife, Carol, and he took great pride in their |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | children, Katie, Josh, and Christina; with the passing years, he |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | had the pleasure of seeing his family grow to include four |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | grandchildren, Ellie, Max, Mikey, and Brayden; and |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | WHEREAS, Admired for his quiet strength and keen sense of |
|---|
| 29 | 30 | | humor, Jim Kemp lived a caring and purposeful life, and he leaves |
|---|
| 30 | 31 | | behind a record of service that his loved ones can remember with |
|---|
| 31 | 32 | | pride; now, therefore, be it |

| 32 | 33 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |

| 33 | 34 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of James Kemp and |

| 34 | 35 | | extend sincere condolences to all who mourn his passing; and, be it |
