| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories |

| 6 | 6 | | of Officer Santos Hernandez, who passed away on August 16, 2020; and |

| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, The son of Santos and Irene Hernandez, Santos |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Hernandez was an officer with the Eagle Pass Independent School |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | District Police Department and assigned to the Eagle Pass Junior |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | High School at the time of his passing; he joined the department in |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | 2018 after a long and distinguished tenure with the Eagle Pass |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Police Department; he also served with the Maverick County |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Sheriff's Department; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, In all of his endeavors, Officer Hernandez enjoyed |

| 15 | 15 | | the love and support of his wife, Irene, and he took great pride in |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | his daughter; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Although Santos Hernandez is deeply missed, |

| 18 | 18 | | memories of his kindness and dedicated service to his fellow |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | citizens remain to comfort those he leaves behind; now, therefore, |

| 20 | 20 | | be it |

| 21 | 21 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |

| 22 | 22 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Officer Santos |

| 23 | 23 | | Hernandez and extend sincere condolences to all who mourn his |

| 24 | 24 | | passing; and, be it further |

| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |

| 26 | 26 | | prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |

| 27 | 27 | | Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Santos |
