45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, The observance of Father's Day on June 19, 2022,
67 provides a fitting opportunity to reflect on the essence of what it
78 means to be a father; and
89 WHEREAS, Today, we salute the men who devote themselves to
910 the well-being of their sons and daughters and who, in the process,
1011 teach their children through their own actions, guidance,
1112 forgiveness, compassion, and affection; and
1213 WHEREAS, The first and most important decision a father makes
1314 is the conscious choice to fulfill the multifaceted
1415 responsibilities of his vital role in the family; he must both
1516 nurture and discipline his children, provide for them, and also
1617 serve as their teacher; above all, he strives to instill in his
1718 children faith, enduring values, and a sure sense of right and
1819 wrong; and
1920 WHEREAS, A century ago, fathers worked at or near their
2021 homes, and children passed a good deal of time in their company,
2122 learning by example an appreciation for the rewards of hard work and
2223 benefiting by their daily wisdom; currently, many parents are
2324 employed some distance away from their homes, making it crucial for
2425 fathers to reflect carefully on the precious hours they have to
2526 devote to the upbringing of their children and on how they may best
2627 help them flourish and become happy, productive citizens; and
2728 WHEREAS, Being a father means accepting the solemn duty of
2829 molding and shaping the next generation, and on Father's Day, we
2930 honor those who have stepped forward and taken up this challenging
3031 yet rewarding responsibility; now, therefore, be it
3132 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
3233 Legislature hereby commemorate Father's Day 2022 and honor the
3334 caring men who have dedicated their lives to building strong
3435 families and a bright future for those who follow in their
3536 footsteps.
