45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Family, friends, and colleagues were deeply
67 saddened by the untimely loss of Dale Edward Multer of Red Rock, a
78 sergeant in the Travis County Precinct 5 Constable Office who
89 passed away on June 27, 2020, at the age of 61; and
910 WHEREAS, The son of Richard and Marjie Multer, Dale Multer
1011 was born in Newport, Rhode Island, on October 22, 1958, and grew up
1112 with two brothers, Richard and Philip; he graduated from Cox High
1213 School in Virginia Beach and earned associate degrees in criminal
1314 justice from the Community College of the Air Force and Austin
1415 Community College; and
1516 WHEREAS, Joining the U.S. Air Force in 1979, Mr. Multer
1617 trained at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio and went on to
1718 work as a security police specialist at Air Force bases in England,
1819 Saudi Arabia, Kansas, and South Dakota and in the Air Force Reserve
1920 as a security police instructor at Lackland; among his many awards,
2021 he received the Air Force Commendation Medal with one oak leaf
2122 cluster and the Air Force Overseas Long Tour Ribbon; and
2223 WHEREAS, In 1996, Mr. Multer embarked on a career spanning
2324 nearly a quarter century in the Travis County Precinct 5 Constable
2425 Office, obtaining a Master Peace Officer Proficiency Certificate
2526 and civil process proficiency certification from the Texas
2627 Commission on Law Enforcement; he served as a field training
2728 officer for many years and held the rank of sergeant at the time of
2829 his death; admired for his dedication to duty and compassion for
2930 others, he helped to protect victims of family violence through his
3031 efforts with the SAFE Alliance, and he was honored with the Robert
3132 Hickman Award and twice as Deputy of the Year; and
3233 WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Sergeant Multer enjoyed the
3334 love and support of his wife, Angie, with whom he shared a rewarding
3435 marriage of three and a half decades; the devoted father of two
3536 children, Andrea and Raymond, he also took great pride in his
3637 granddaughter, Raylynn; his favorite leisure pursuits included
3738 traveling with his wife, fishing, hunting, and camping; and
3839 WHEREAS, Dale Multer made a meaningful difference in the
3940 lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him, and he leaves
4041 behind a record of service that his loved ones can remember with
4142 pride; now, therefore, be it
4243 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
4344 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Sergeant Dale Edward
4445 Multer and extend deepest condolences to those who mourn his
4546 passing; and, be it further
4647 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
4748 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
4849 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Dale
4950 Multer.
