5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Family, friends, and colleagues were deeply |

6 | 7 | | saddened by the untimely loss of Dale Edward Multer of Red Rock, a |

7 | 8 | | sergeant in the Travis County Precinct 5 Constable Office who |

8 | 9 | | passed away on June 27, 2020, at the age of 61; and |

9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, The son of Richard and Marjie Multer, Dale Multer |
---|
10 | 11 | | was born in Newport, Rhode Island, on October 22, 1958, and grew up |
---|
11 | 12 | | with two brothers, Richard and Philip; he graduated from Cox High |
---|
12 | 13 | | School in Virginia Beach and earned associate degrees in criminal |
---|
13 | 14 | | justice from the Community College of the Air Force and Austin |
---|
14 | 15 | | Community College; and |
---|
15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Joining the U.S. Air Force in 1979, Mr. Multer |
---|
16 | 17 | | trained at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio and went on to |
---|
17 | 18 | | work as a security police specialist at Air Force bases in England, |
---|
18 | 19 | | Saudi Arabia, Kansas, and South Dakota and in the Air Force Reserve |
---|
19 | 20 | | as a security police instructor at Lackland; among his many awards, |
---|
20 | 21 | | he received the Air Force Commendation Medal with one oak leaf |
---|
21 | 22 | | cluster and the Air Force Overseas Long Tour Ribbon; and |
---|
22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, In 1996, Mr. Multer embarked on a career spanning |

23 | 24 | | nearly a quarter century in the Travis County Precinct 5 Constable |
---|
24 | 25 | | Office, obtaining a Master Peace Officer Proficiency Certificate |
---|
25 | 26 | | and civil process proficiency certification from the Texas |
---|
26 | 27 | | Commission on Law Enforcement; he served as a field training |
---|
27 | 28 | | officer for many years and held the rank of sergeant at the time of |
---|
28 | 29 | | his death; admired for his dedication to duty and compassion for |
---|
29 | 30 | | others, he helped to protect victims of family violence through his |
---|
30 | 31 | | efforts with the SAFE Alliance, and he was honored with the Robert |
---|
31 | 32 | | Hickman Award and twice as Deputy of the Year; and |
---|
32 | 33 | | WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Sergeant Multer enjoyed the |
---|
33 | 34 | | love and support of his wife, Angie, with whom he shared a rewarding |
---|
34 | 35 | | marriage of three and a half decades; the devoted father of two |
---|
35 | 36 | | children, Andrea and Raymond, he also took great pride in his |
---|
36 | 37 | | granddaughter, Raylynn; his favorite leisure pursuits included |
---|
37 | 38 | | traveling with his wife, fishing, hunting, and camping; and |
---|
38 | 39 | | WHEREAS, Dale Multer made a meaningful difference in the |
---|
39 | 40 | | lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him, and he leaves |
---|
40 | 41 | | behind a record of service that his loved ones can remember with |
---|
41 | 42 | | pride; now, therefore, be it |
---|
42 | 43 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |

43 | 44 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Sergeant Dale Edward |
---|
44 | 45 | | Multer and extend deepest condolences to those who mourn his |
---|
45 | 46 | | passing; and, be it further |

46 | 47 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
