| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Children are the Lone Star State's most precious |

| 6 | 7 | | natural resource, and the Marlin Independent School District has |

| 7 | 8 | | demonstrated a deep commitment to educating area youth; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The district draws enrollment from a diverse |

| 9 | 10 | | community within a five-square-mile area; nearly 150 employees |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | serve more than 800 students at Marlin Elementary, Marlin Middle, |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | and Marlin High Schools; faculty and staff strive to foster a safe, |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | nurturing environment for learning; and |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Since 2020, Dr. Darryl J. Henson has led the |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | district as superintendent; he is assisted by an executive cabinet |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | that includes Lawrence Galloway, chief operating officer, |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | Dr. Stacy Parker, executive director of academics and student |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | services, Adam LeJeune, director of technology, and Jesse |

| 18 | 19 | | Bustamante, director of human resources and special education; and |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, The district's board of managers includes president |

| 20 | 21 | | Billy Johnson, vice president Danny Vickers, and secretary Byrleen |

| 21 | 22 | | Terry; and |

| 22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, A quality education is critical to the continuing |

| 23 | 24 | | vitality of our state, and the administration, faculty, and staff |

| 24 | 25 | | of the Marlin Independent School District work tirelessly to help |

| 25 | 26 | | students reach their full potential as responsible, productive, and |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | ethical members of a changing society; now, therefore, be it |

| 27 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | Legislature hereby honor the Marlin Independent School District for |
|---|
| 29 | 30 | | its service to the community and extend sincere best wishes for the |
|---|
| 30 | 31 | | future; and, be it further |
|---|
| 31 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
