| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Houston Methodist has announced plans to build a new |

| 7 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The new facility will be the ninth hospital in the |

| 8 | 9 | | Houston Methodist health care network, which currently operates a |

| 9 | 10 | | number of primary care clinics in the area; Houston Methodist |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | recently acquired a 106-acre property on the east side of the |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | Northwest Freeway, and a master plan has been developed for the |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | campus that includes outpatient clinics and multiple medical office |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | buildings, along with additional space for growth and expansion; |

| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, The campus will be modeled after existing Houston |

| 16 | 17 | | Methodist locations in Houston and The Woodlands; once completed, |

| 17 | 18 | | it is expected to bring hundreds of jobs to the area, while |

| 18 | 19 | | providing local residents with ready access to the world-class |

| 19 | 20 | | health care that is synonymous with Houston Methodist; and |

| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Houston Methodist hospitals are vital resources to |

| 21 | 22 | | countless Texans, and it is a privilege to join in celebrating this |

| 23 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
