| 7 | 8 | | historic challenges, and the physicians, nurses, allied health care |

| 8 | 9 | | staff, support staff, and the administration of Golden Plains |

| 9 | 10 | | Community Hospital have, together as a professional health care |

| 10 | 11 | | team, heroically stood on the front lines in the war against this |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | contagious and deadly virus, and they have resolutely persevered in |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | the face of tremendous adversity wrought by the unseen enemy; and |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, At the outset of the pandemic, hospitals throughout |

| 14 | 15 | | Texas, including Golden Plains Community Hospital, intently |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | focused on many matters, including preparedness measures, |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | infection control protocols and screenings, personal protective |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | equipment, and the coordination of response efforts with nearby |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | hospitals; and |

| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, The unwavering collective resolve and fortitude |

| 20 | 21 | | demonstrated by the staff of Golden Plains Community Hospital is |

| 21 | 22 | | the latest chapter in the district's history of caring for its |

| 22 | 23 | | patients and the community; from its beginnings as a hospital in |

| 23 | 24 | | Borger, Texas, in the mid-1920s, Golden Plains Community Hospital |

| 24 | 25 | | has since grown into a thriving health care organization; and |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Although COVID-19 put a tremendous strain on |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | hospitals across the country, the professional team of the Golden |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | Plains Community Hospital worked together to provide medical care |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | to patients and to the community at large under extremely |
|---|
| 29 | 30 | | physically and mentally exhausting circumstances; and |
|---|
| 30 | 31 | | WHEREAS, In resolutely facing, adapting to, and overcoming |

| 31 | 32 | | the ever-evolving and unprecedented health care circumstances |
|---|
| 32 | 33 | | thrust upon them, all associated with the hospital are indeed |

| 33 | 34 | | deserving of recognition for their tireless heroic work on the |
|---|
| 34 | 35 | | front lines in the war against COVID-19; now, therefore, be it |

| 35 | 36 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |

| 36 | 37 | | Legislature hereby commend the physicians, nurses, and entire |
|---|
| 37 | 38 | | frontline personnel, including the support staff and |
|---|
| 38 | 39 | | administration, of the Golden Plains Community Hospital for their |
|---|
| 39 | 40 | | outstanding and noble heroic service to the people of Hutchinson |
|---|
| 40 | 41 | | County and the greater Texas Panhandle region; and, be it further |

| 41 | 42 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |

| 42 | 43 | | prepared for the staff of the Golden Plains Community Hospital as an |
